  • 0.5 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 0.25 ounces simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon wheel or twist for garnish
  • Fresh ginger slice for optional garnish

Method
 

  1. Fill your rocks glass with fresh ice cubes.
  2. Measure and pour 2 ounces of whiskey into a cocktail shaker.
  3. Add 0.5 ounces of fresh lemon juice to the shaker.
  4. Include 0.25 ounces of simple syrup and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters in the shaker.
  5. Add a generous handful of ice to the shaker to chill the ingredients.
  6. Seal and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds until the shaker feels frosty.
  7. Strain the mixture into the ice-filled rocks glass using your strainer.
  8. Top with 4 ounces of quality ginger ale, pouring gently over the back of a spoon to preserve carbonation.
  9. Garnish with a lemon twist and a fresh ginger slice, then serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh ice cubes and premium ginger ale for the best flavor and carbonation; serve immediately while cold and fizzy.
