Gin Fizz with No Egg

Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 ounces gin
  • 0.75 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 ounce simple syrup
  • 1 cup ice cubed or cracked
  • 2 to 3 ounces soda water chilled
  • 1 lemon wheel or twist for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mason jar with lid
  • Jigger or shot glass
  • Bar spoon or long spoon
  • Strainer
  • Highball or rocks glass
  • Citrus juicer or hand squeezer
  • Muddler (optional)

Method
 

  1. Fill your highball glass with ice and a splash of cold water, then set aside while you prepare the drink.
  2. Measure 2 ounces of gin into a cocktail shaker using a jigger.
  3. Add 0.75 ounce of fresh lemon juice to the shaker.
  4. Add 0.5 ounce of simple syrup to the shaker.
  5. Fill the shaker three-quarters full with 1 cup of cubed or cracked ice.
  6. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until the outside is frosty.
  7. Discard the ice and water from the chilled glass and strain the cocktail into it.
  8. Top the drink with 2 to 3 ounces of chilled soda water, pouring gently to preserve carbonation.
  9. Garnish with a lemon wheel or twist and serve immediately for best fizz and chill.

Notes

Serve immediately while the drink is cold and fizzy for optimal texture and flavor.
