Method
- Fill your highball glass with ice and a splash of cold water, then set aside while you prepare the drink.
- Measure 2 ounces of gin into a cocktail shaker using a jigger.
- Add 0.75 ounce of fresh lemon juice to the shaker.
- Add 0.5 ounce of simple syrup to the shaker.
- Fill the shaker three-quarters full with 1 cup of cubed or cracked ice.
- Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until the outside is frosty.
- Discard the ice and water from the chilled glass and strain the cocktail into it.
- Top the drink with 2 to 3 ounces of chilled soda water, pouring gently to preserve carbonation.
- Garnish with a lemon wheel or twist and serve immediately for best fizz and chill.
