Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1.5 ounces gin London Dry style preferred
  • 0.5 ounces fresh lime juice juice from half a fresh lime
  • 0.5 ounces lime cordial Rose's or other quality brand
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wheel or twist for garnish optional

  • Jigger or measuring tool for precise ounce measurements
  • Cocktail shaker (Boston shaker or mixing glass)
  • Strainer (Hawthorne or julep strainer)
  • Barspoon for stirring
  • Cutting board and knife for lime preparation
  • Cocktail glass (coupe or martini glass, chilled)
  • Citrus juicer or reamer

Method
 

  1. Chill your coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Pour 1.5 ounces of gin into a jigger, then add to a cocktail shaker.
  3. Measure 0.5 ounces of lime cordial and add to the shaker.
  4. Cut a fresh lime in half and squeeze 0.5 ounces of juice into the shaker.
  5. Fill the shaker three-quarters full with ice cubes.
  6. Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until the outside becomes frosty.
  7. Using a strainer, strain the mixture into the chilled glass, leaving the ice behind in the shaker.
  8. Garnish with a lime wheel or twist on the rim or floated on top, then serve immediately.

Notes

Always measure ingredients with a jigger for consistent balance and serve immediately for best flavor.
