Method
- Grind 1 cup of coffee beans on the coarsest setting of your grinder.
- Add 4 cups of cold filtered water to a 34-ounce French press.
- Pour the coarse coffee grounds into the French press and stir gently to fully submerge the grounds.
- Cover the press without plunging and let the mixture steep at room temperature for 12 hours.
- After 12 hours, stir the mixture gently to redistribute any settled grounds.
- Slowly press the plunger down over 30 seconds to separate the grounds from the concentrate.
- Pour the concentrate into glass jars, straining through a fine mesh or cheesecloth if desired.
- Seal the jars and refrigerate the concentrate for up to two weeks until ready to serve.
Notes
Store the cold brew concentrate in airtight jars in the refrigerator for up to two weeks and label with the brew date.
