Method
- Pull a fresh 1-ounce espresso shot into a small cup and let it cool for about 10 to 15 seconds.
- Add 1 cup of cubed ice to a cocktail shaker.
- Measure and pour 1.5 ounces of vodka into the shaker.
- Add 0.75 ounces of Kahlua or coffee liqueur to the shaker.
- Pour in 0.25 ounces of simple syrup.
- Add the cooled espresso to the shaker.
- Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds to create a silky foam head.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled shot glass or coupe glass, preserving the crema.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the velvety texture and foam head at its best.
