Dirty Vodka Martini

Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 ounces premium vodka
  • 1/2 ounce dry vermouth
  • 1/2 to 3/4 ounce olive brine
  • 2 to 3 green olives pitted
  • Ice preferably large cubes
  • Sea salt a pinch (optional)

Equipment

  • Mixing glass or cocktail pitcher
  • Bar spoon or long stirring spoon
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Martini glass
  • Jigger
  • Cocktail picks or small skewers

Method
 

  1. Place the martini glass in the freezer for at least 15 minutes or fill it with ice water while preparing the drink.
  2. Fill the mixing glass or cocktail pitcher with large ice cubes.
  3. Measure and pour 2 ounces of premium vodka over the ice.
  4. Add 1/2 ounce of dry vermouth to the mixing glass.
  5. Pour 1/2 to 3/4 ounce of olive brine into the mixing glass, adjusting for desired dirtiness.
  6. Stir the mixture smoothly for 30 seconds with a bar spoon to chill and dilute slightly.
  7. Discard the ice or water from the chilled martini glass.
  8. Strain the cocktail into the chilled martini glass using a Hawthorne strainer.
  9. Garnish with 2 to 3 pitted green olives on a cocktail pick and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve immediately after mixing to maintain optimal temperature and clarity.
