Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 ounces grenadine
  • 4 ounces ginger ale or lemon-lime soda
  • 2 ounces cranberry juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 to 3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 0.25 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 maraschino cherry for garnish
  • 1 orange slice for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Highball glass or tall cocktail glass
  • Cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Bar spoon or long mixing spoon
  • Jigger or measuring spoon
  • Strainer if using a cocktail shaker
  • Muddler (optional)

Method
 

  1. Chill a highball glass in the freezer for 5 minutes.
  2. Fill the chilled glass three-quarters full with ice cubes.
  3. Measure and pour 2 ounces of grenadine into the ice-filled glass.
  4. Add 2 ounces of cranberry juice over the grenadine.
  5. Add 0.5 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce and 0.25 teaspoon soy sauce to the glass.
  6. Dash in 2 to 3 dashes of Angostura bitters.
  7. Stir gently with a bar spoon for 10 to 15 seconds to combine flavors.
  8. Pour 4 ounces of ice-cold ginger ale or lemon-lime soda over the mixture.
  9. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and an optional orange slice on the rim.
  10. Serve immediately to maintain carbonation and optimal flavor.

Notes

Use high-quality grenadine and chilled ginger ale. Adjust Worcestershire and soy sauce to taste and stir gently after adding carbonation.
