  • 1 piece fresh cucumber about 3 inches, cut into chunks
  • 2 ounces premium vodka
  • 0.5 ounces dry vermouth
  • 0.25 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup ice for shaking
  • 1 dash orange bitters optional
  • 1 cucumber ribbon or thin slice for garnish optional

  • Coupe glass or martini glass

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Cut the cucumber into three to four chunks about an inch long.
  2. Step 2: Chill a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least 2 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Add the cucumber chunks to the cocktail shaker.
  4. Step 4: Gently muddle the cucumber to release juice and aromatic oils without pulverizing.
  5. Step 5: Fill the shaker with ice, then add vodka, dry vermouth, and lemon juice.
  6. Step 6: Add a dash of orange bitters if using.
  7. Step 7: Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until frosty.
  8. Step 8: Strain the cocktail through a fine-mesh sieve into the chilled glass.
  9. Step 9: Garnish with a cucumber ribbon or thin slice and serve immediately.
