Ingredients

Main
  • 1.5 ounces vanilla vodka per shot
  • 1 ounce cream liqueur like Baileys per shot
  • 0.5 ounce fresh orange juice per shot

Equipment

  • Shot glasses
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Bar spoon or long spoon for layering
  • Mixing glass (optional but helpful)
  • Citrus juicer or hand-squeezed orange

Method

  1. Pour 1.5 ounces of vanilla vodka into each shot glass using a jigger for accuracy.
  2. Carefully layer 1 ounce of cream liqueur on top of the vodka by pouring slowly over the back of a bar spoon.
  3. Slowly pour 0.5 ounce of fresh orange juice down the back of a bar spoon held just above the drink surface to form the top layer.
  4. Wait about 10 seconds for the layers to fully separate and settle into distinct zones.
  5. Knock back the entire shot in one swift movement to experience the combined flavors.
  6. Repeat the layering process for each additional shot, keeping the same proportions for consistency.
  7. Optionally chill the shot glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes before pouring for a colder, crisper shot.
  8. Adjust the balance by adding more orange juice if too strong or more cream liqueur if too citrusy in subsequent batches.

Notes

Serve immediately for best layered effect. Keep all ingredients chilled and assemble shots right before serving.
