Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1.5 ounces silver tequila 100% agave works best
  • 2 ounces fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1.5 ounces cranberry juice
  • 0.75 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 ounces simple syrup or agave syrup
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Ice cubes
  • Grapefruit slice or lime wheel for garnish
  • Optional: tajin or chili-lime salt for rimming

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mason jar with lid
  • Jigger or shot glass for measuring
  • Bar spoon or long teaspoon
  • Rocks glass or highball glass
  • Citrus juicer
  • Knife and cutting board for garnish
  • Cocktail strainer

Method
 

  1. Fill your rocks or highball glass with ice and set it aside to chill.
  2. Pour 1.5 ounces of silver tequila into a cocktail shaker.
  3. Add 2 ounces of fresh grapefruit juice and 1.5 ounces of cranberry juice to the shaker.
  4. Add 0.75 ounces of fresh lime juice and 0.5 ounces of simple syrup or agave syrup.
  5. Add a pinch of sea salt to the shaker and fill with ice.
  6. Shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until well chilled.
  7. Discard the ice from your chilled glass and strain the cocktail into the glass over fresh ice.
  8. Garnish with a grapefruit slice or lime wheel and rim with tajin or chili-lime salt if desired, then serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh grapefruit and lime juice for best flavor. Enjoy immediately and responsibly.
