  • 8 ounces apple juice fresh or refrigerated
  • 4 ounces water
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch ground clove
  • 2 tablespoons caramel syrup
For Topping
  • 2 tablespoons whipped cream
  • 1 tablespoon caramel drizzle
  • Pinch ground cinnamon for garnish

Method
 

  1. Measure 8 ounces apple juice and 4 ounces water into a saucepan.
  2. Sprinkle in 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg, and a pinch of ground clove, then whisk to combine.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until steaming hot, but not boiling.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons caramel syrup to the simmering mixture and whisk constantly for 30 seconds until fully incorporated.
  5. Prepare your serving mug and have whipped cream and caramel drizzle ready to prevent cooling.
  6. Pour the hot spiced apple mixture into the mug, filling it about three-quarters full.
  7. Top the drink with 2 tablespoons whipped cream and allow it to melt slightly.
  8. Spoon 1 tablespoon caramel drizzle over the whipped cream and finish with a pinch of ground cinnamon on top.

Make a batch of the spiced apple juice mixture in a slow cooker to keep it warm for quick servings throughout the day.
