Ingredients

Main
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 4 teaspoons loose leaf green tea or 4 tea bags
  • Optional: sweetener lemon slices, mint leaves for garnish

Equipment

  • Large pitcher or jar
  • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Measuring cups
  • Refrigerator

Method

  1. Measure your tea: choose your tea and measure out the correct amount to ensure the right flavor strength.
  2. Combine water and tea: in a large pitcher, add the cold water and tea so the delicate flavors are preserved.
  3. Stir gently: use a spoon to stir the mixture slightly to help the tea infuse evenly.
  4. Cover and refrigerate: cover the pitcher and place it in the refrigerator; let it steep for about 8 hours for maximum flavor extraction.
  5. Strain the tea: after steeping, strain the tea using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove leaves and sediment.
  6. Taste and adjust: taste your cold brew and add sweetener or adjust flavors to your liking.
  7. Serve over ice: pour the cold brew green tea over ice in a glass.
  8. Garnish and enjoy: add lemon slices or mint leaves for a beautiful presentation.

Notes
