Ingredients

Main
  • 8 ounces water
  • 1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon loose tea leaves
  • 1/4 cup full-fat coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon honey or agave nectar
  • Pinch of sea salt

Equipment

  • Kettle or pot for heating water
  • Tea mug or cup
  • Tea infuser, tea bag, or strainer
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Heat 8 ounces of fresh cold water in a kettle or pot until it reaches a rolling boil (about 5 minutes).
  2. Place your tea bag or tea infuser with loose leaves into your mug while the water heats.
  3. Pour the boiling water over the tea bag or infuser in your mug.
  4. Steep the tea for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on your chosen tea type and desired strength.
  5. Remove the tea bag or infuser, gently squeezing against the mug to extract the last drops of flavor.
  6. Add 1/4 cup full-fat coconut milk to the hot tea and stir until fully combined.
  7. Stir in 1 teaspoon honey or agave nectar while the tea is still hot to ensure it dissolves completely.
  8. Add a pinch of sea salt and stir once more to balance the flavors.

Notes

Serve hot or pour over ice for a chilled version; adjust sweetener to taste.
