Main
  • 1.5 cups brewed coffee strong
  • 3/4 cup coconut milk full-fat, shaken
  • 2 tablespoons sweetener maple syrup, honey, or sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: nutmeg cardamom, or a splash of coconut rum

Equipment

  • Coffee maker or coffee brewing device
  • Saucepan or small pot
  • Whisk or spoon for stirring
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Two coffee mugs or serving glasses
  • Milk frother (optional)

Method
 

  1. Brew 1.5 cups of strong coffee using your preferred method.
  2. Warm 3/4 cup coconut milk in a small saucepan over medium heat for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons sweetener, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt to the coconut milk and stir to combine.
  4. Froth the coconut milk mixture with a milk frother or whisk vigorously for 20–30 seconds until foamy.
  5. Divide the brewed coffee between two mugs, pouring about 3/4 cup into each.
  6. Slowly pour the spiced coconut milk into each mug of coffee, stirring gently to combine.
  7. Taste and adjust the sweetness or spice level as needed.
  8. Sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon on top and serve immediately.

Notes

Shake or stir canned coconut milk before using to ensure a smooth, creamy texture.
