Method
- Roll 2 medium lemons on the counter to loosen juice, then slice them in half.
- Use a citrus juicer to extract 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice, straining out seeds and pulp if desired.
- Pour 1 cup of cold or room temperature water into a tall drinking glass.
- Add the fresh lemon juice to the glass of water and stir gently.
- Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar over the mixture and stir vigorously for 1 minute until dissolved.
- Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice as needed.
- Fill the glass with 5 to 7 ice cubes to chill the drink further.
- Give the lemonade a final stir to distribute the cold evenly and serve immediately.
Notes
Make your lemonade at least an hour before serving and refrigerate, then add ice just before drinking to prevent dilution while maintaining maximum chill.
