Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Casamigos tequila
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 ounce triple sec or Cointreau
  • 0.5 ounce agave nectar
  • 1 cup ice
  • Sea salt for rimming optional
  • Lime wheel for garnish

Equipment

  • Jigger or measuring shot glass
  • Bar spoon or long mixing spoon
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Rocks glass or margarita glass
  • Cutting board and knife for lime garnish
  • Shallow dish for salt rim (optional)

Method
 

  1. Measure 2 ounces Casamigos tequila, 1 ounce fresh lime juice, 0.5 ounce triple sec or Cointreau, and 0.5 ounce agave nectar using a jigger or measuring glass.
  2. If desired, rub the rim of a rocks or margarita glass with a lime wedge and dip into sea salt to create a salt rim.
  3. Add 1 cup of fresh ice to the cocktail shaker and fill it about two-thirds full.
  4. Pour the measured Casamigos tequila into the ice-filled shaker.
  5. Add 0.5 ounce triple sec or Cointreau to the shaker.
  6. Add 1 ounce of fresh lime juice to the shaker.
  7. Add 0.5 ounce of agave nectar to the shaker.
  8. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 seconds until the outside is frosty.
  9. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice, using a cocktail strainer.
  10. Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim and serve immediately.

Notes

Always use freshly squeezed lime juice for the best flavor. Scale ingredients as needed for additional servings.
