Ingredients

Main
  • 4 medium carrots peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey optional, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • Ice cubes optional, for serving

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Strainer or cheesecloth
  • Measuring cups
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Glass for serving

Method

  1. Peel and chop the carrots into smaller pieces.
  2. Place the chopped carrots in the blender. Add about half a cup of water to help them blend smoothly.
  3. Blend the carrots on high until you get a smooth puree.
  4. Using a strainer or cheesecloth, strain the carrot puree into a bowl or pitcher.
  5. Pour the strained carrot juice back into the blender. Add the milk and blend again for a few seconds.
  6. Add honey and vanilla extract if you're using them. Blend briefly to mix well.
  7. If you prefer your drink cold, add ice cubes to serving glasses and pour the juice over the ice.
  8. Stir the juice before drinking to mix everything up again.

Notes

Always taste the juice before serving and adjust sweetness as needed; fresh carrots can vary in sweetness.
