Method
- Pull two shots of espresso into your mug, or brew 3/4 cup of strong coffee using your preferred method.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the butterscotch syrup and butter and stir gently for about 1 minute.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Carefully pour the butterscotch and butter mixture into your mug with the espresso and stir well to combine.
- Steam the milk using a steam wand until hot and foamy, around 150 to 160°F, or heat gently in a saucepan until hot and foamy.
- Pour the steamed milk into your mug slowly, holding back the foam with a spoon to layer properly.
- Spoon the remaining milk foam on top, creating a half-inch layer.
- Drizzle additional butterscotch syrup over the foam and serve immediately.
