- Fill a rocks glass with fresh ice cubes and set aside.
- Add 6 to 8 fresh blackberries to a cocktail shaker and muddle gently for 3 to 4 presses to release juice.
- Pour 2 ounces of bourbon and 0.5 ounces of crème de mûre into the shaker with the muddled berries.
- Add 0.75 ounces of fresh lemon juice and 0.5 ounces of simple syrup to the shaker.
- Fill the shaker three-quarters full with about 1 cup of fresh ice.
- Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until the exterior is frosty.
- Strain the mixture through a fine strainer into the prepared ice-filled rocks glass.
- Garnish with fresh blackberries or a lemon wheel and serve immediately.
Notes
Use fresh berries and chill glassware ahead of time for best flavor and presentation.
