  • 1 teaspoon sugar for rim, optional
  • 1 cup ice crushed or cubed

Equipment

  • Mixing spoon
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Martini glass
  • Small bowl for sugar rim
  • Citrus juicer

Method

  1. Chill your martini glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Place 8 to 10 fresh blueberries in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
  3. Gently muddle the blueberries for about 10 seconds until they release juice but are not pulverized.
  4. Pour in 2 ounces vodka, 1 ounce fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 ounce simple syrup into the shaker.
  5. Add 1 cup of ice to the shaker, ensuring it covers the liquid.
  6. Shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until the shaker is frosted and cold.
  7. Use a cocktail strainer to pour the mixture into the chilled martini glass.
  8. If desired, rim the glass with 1 teaspoon sugar before pouring the drink.
  9. Garnish with 3 to 4 fresh blueberries and an optional lemon twist, then serve immediately.

Notes

Muddle blueberries gently to prevent cloudiness and enjoy the cocktail immediately while cold.
