Method
- Chill the shot glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes.
- Pour 0.5 ounce of blue curaçao into the chilled shot glass using a jigger.
- Slowly pour 0.5 ounce of vodka over the back of a bar spoon to float on the blue curaçao.
- Using the bar spoon, carefully layer 0.5 ounce of gin on top of the vodka.
- Check the glass from the side to confirm three distinct layers.
- Optionally add a single ice cube to the glass for 30 seconds to chill, then remove it.
- Either stir gently to combine flavors or serve the shot layered for a visual effect.
- Serve immediately while the shot is cold and the layers are defined.
Notes
The key to successful layering is to pour slowly over the back of a spoon to maintain separation of layers.
