  • 0.5 ounces blue curacao
  • 0.5 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 0.25 ounces dry vermouth
  • Ice cubed or cracked
  • Lemon twist or blue cocktail cherry for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or shot glass
  • Mixing glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Martini glass (chilled)
  • Citrus juicer or hand squeezer
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Chill your martini glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Measure and pour 2 ounces of vodka, 0.5 ounces of blue curacao, and 0.25 ounces of dry vermouth into a jigger.
  3. Cut a fresh lemon in half and squeeze 0.5 ounces of juice through a fine mesh strainer into a small glass.
  4. Fill your cocktail shaker halfway with large ice cubes.
  5. Add the measured vodka, blue curacao, dry vermouth, and fresh lemon juice to the ice-filled shaker.
  6. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds to chill and aerate the drink.
  7. Strain the mixture into the chilled martini glass, leaving the ice behind.
  8. Twist a lemon peel over the surface to release oils and drop it into the drink, or garnish with a blue cocktail cherry.

Notes

Pre-chill your mixing glass and spirits to minimize dilution and achieve the smoothest texture.
