Method
- Place the tall glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes to chill.
- Remove the vanilla ice cream from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for 30 to 60 seconds to soften slightly.
- Pour about 2 to 3 ounces of cold root beer into the chilled glass to create a liquid base.
- Use the ice cream scoop to add one generous scoop of softened vanilla ice cream into the root beer.
- Slowly pour an additional 2 to 3 ounces of root beer down the side of the glass to avoid overflow and build foam.
- Add the second scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of the foam layer.
- Top off with the remaining root beer poured gently down the side until the liquid is about half an inch below the rim.
- Insert a long spoon and stir gently a few times to blend flavors. Serve immediately for maximum fizziness.
