Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of strong brewed tea
  • 1/4 cup of whiskey or your preferred spirit
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes optional, for serving

Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • shaker or mixing glass
  • Strainer
  • Serving glasses
  • Stirring spoon

Method

  1. Brew 1/2 cup of strong tea by steeping tea leaves in hot water (around 95°C) for 5 minutes then strain into a cup.
  2. Heat 1 cup of milk in a saucepan over low heat for about 3 minutes until warm but not boiling to prevent curdling.
  3. In a shaker or mixing glass, combine the brewed tea, 1/4 cup of whiskey, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  4. Slowly pour the warm milk into the mixture and stir thoroughly for 30 seconds to combine all flavors.
  5. If serving cold, add ice cubes to the shaker and gently shake for 10 seconds to chill.
  6. Strain the drink into serving glasses to remove any solids or tea leaves.
  7. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg if desired, then serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the tea steep longer and experiment with garnishes like cinnamon or fresh mint.
