Method
- Place your coupe glass or margarita glass in the freezer for at least five minutes while you gather your ingredients.
- Cut two fresh limes in half and juice them using a citrus juicer or hand reamer until you have one ounce of juice.
- Using a jigger, measure out exactly two ounces of your premium silver tequila into the cocktail shaker.
- Measure and pour 0.5 ounce of Cointreau into the shaker with the tequila.
- Add your freshly squeezed lime juice, measuring carefully to get exactly one ounce.
- Measure and add 0.5 ounce of agave nectar to the shaker.
- Add enough ice cubes to fill your shaker about three-quarters full, then seal it tightly and shake hard for about ten seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes frosted.
- Using a cocktail strainer or fine mesh sieve, pour the margarita into your frozen glass, leaving the ice behind in the shaker.
- Run a lime wheel around the rim of the glass and place it on the edge as a garnish, then serve immediately.
Notes
Chill your glass and tequila before making the margarita and always use fresh lime juice for best flavor.
