Ingredients

Main
  • 1 ripe banana peeled and sliced (about 100-120 grams)
  • 1 shot espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee cooled slightly
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or milk of choice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • Ice cubes for serving if making cold version

Equipment

  • Blender or immersion blender with tall container
  • Espresso machine or strong brewed coffee maker
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Tall glass for serving
  • Spoon for stirring if not blending

Method

  1. Peel the ripe banana and slice it into 1-inch chunks to ensure smooth blending.
  2. Brew one shot of espresso or prepare 1/2 cup of strong coffee and let it cool for 1–2 minutes.
  3. Place the sliced banana into the blender pitcher or tall container.
  4. Pour the brewed espresso or coffee over the banana pieces.
  5. Add 1/2 cup of whole milk (or milk of choice) to the blender.
  6. Add honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract if desired for extra sweetness and flavor.
  7. Blend on medium-high speed for 30–45 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
  8. Pour the banana coffee into a tall glass and serve immediately for the best texture and temperature.

Notes

Enjoy immediately as the drink may separate if left standing. For a thicker, iced version, use frozen banana slices.
