Method
- Fill the pitcher about one-quarter full with ice to keep the drink cold without diluting it too quickly.
- Measure and pour 1 cup of Aperol over the ice in the pitcher.
- Slowly add the entire bottle of Prosecco (about 25 ounces) by pouring gently along the side of the pitcher to preserve bubbles.
- Top off the mixture with 1 cup of soda water for a light effervescence.
- Stir gently with a long spoon or cocktail stirrer for about 10 seconds to combine without deflating the bubbles.
- Taste a small pour and adjust balance by adding a splash more soda water if too strong or a bit more Aperol if too light.
- Add orange slices or wheels into the pitcher for garnish and subtle citrus infusion.
- Chill the assembled pitcher in the refrigerator or ice bucket until ready to serve, then pour into ice-filled glasses with an orange slice.
Notes
Prepare the pitcher up to 2 hours ahead for flavors to meld, and keep it in an ice bucket if serving outdoors to maintain chill and carbonation.
