  • 1.5 ounces amaretto liqueur
  • 0.75 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 ounces simple syrup
  • 0.25 ounces peach schnapps or peach nectar optional
  • 1 egg white optional
  • Ice cubes for shaking
  • Lemon wheel or twist for garnish
  • Almond sliver or cherry for optional garnish

  • Jigger or measuring spoon set
  • Strainer

  • Juice squeezer or citrus reamer
  • Rocks glass or coupe glass

Method
 

  1. Chill your rocks or coupe glass in the freezer for at least five minutes.
  2. Measure 1.5 ounces amaretto, 0.75 ounces fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 ounces simple syrup into your shaker.
  3. If using egg white, add it to the shaker before adding ice.
  4. Dry shake all ingredients for about ten seconds to emulsify the egg white.
  5. Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for another ten to fifteen seconds until the shaker is frosted and cold.
  6. Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass over fresh ice or serve up without ice.
  7. Express a lemon peel over the drink to release citrus oils and add garnish.
  8. Garnish with a lemon wheel and optional almond sliver or cherry, then serve immediately.

Serve immediately at peak temperature and texture. Fresh ingredients and proper shaking ensure balance and foam.
