Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1.5 ounces vodka
  • 0.75 ounces chocolate liqueur such as Godiva or Creme de Cacao
  • 0.5 ounces coconut rum such as Malibu
  • 0.75 ounces heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 2-3 drops almond extract
  • 1 drop vanilla extract
  • Ice for shaking
  • 3-4 whole toasted almonds optional garnish
  • 1 teaspoon shredded coconut lightly toasted (optional garnish)
  • Small piece dark chocolate or chocolate syrup drizzle optional garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Mixing glass
  • Jigger or measuring spoons
  • Bar spoon
  • Strainer or Hawthorne strainer
  • Martini glass (chilled)
  • Ice
  • Knife for garnishing

Method
 

  1. Chill martini glass in freezer for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Fill cocktail shaker about three-quarters full with fresh ice.
  3. Measure and add 1.5 ounces vodka to the shaker.
  4. Add 0.75 ounces chocolate liqueur to the shaker.
  5. Pour in 0.5 ounces coconut rum.
  6. Add 0.75 ounces heavy cream or half-and-half to the shaker.
  7. Add 2-3 drops almond extract and 1 drop vanilla extract.
  8. Secure lid and shake vigorously for 15 seconds until shaker is frosty.
  9. Strain cocktail into chilled martini glass, leaving ice behind.
  10. Garnish with toasted almonds, shredded coconut, or a chocolate drizzle and serve immediately.

Notes

You can pre-batch the liquid ingredients in a sealed jar for up to three days; shake with fresh ice before serving for best texture.
