Ingredients

Main
  • 0.5 oz light rum
  • 0.5 oz vodka
  • 0.5 oz gin
  • 0.5 oz tequila
  • 0.5 oz triple sec
  • 0.5 oz blue curaçao
  • 0.75 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • Ice for shaking
  • Lime wheel for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Bar spoon or regular spoon for stirring
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Shot glasses
  • Strainer
  • Cutting board and knife

Method

  1. Grab your jigger and carefully measure 0.5 oz each of rum, vodka, gin, tequila, triple sec, and blue curaçao.
  2. Squeeze fresh lime juice until you have 0.75 oz and measure it in your jigger.
  3. Measure 0.5 oz of simple syrup and set it aside with your other ingredients.
  4. Fill your cocktail shaker about three-quarters full with fresh ice.
  5. Add all your measured spirits (rum, vodka, gin, tequila, triple sec, and blue curaçao) directly into the shaker with the ice.
  6. Pour in your fresh lime juice and simple syrup.
  7. Cap your shaker and shake hard for 10 to 12 seconds, making sure the ice is moving around loudly inside.
  8. Place your strainer over the shaker opening and carefully pour the mixture into shot glasses.
  9. Squeeze a lime wheel over the top of each shot for extra brightness and drop it in as a garnish if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Always use fresh lime juice squeezed that day or the day before; bottled juice tastes flat and ruins the balance of this cocktail. Chill your shot glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes before serving to keep your drink cold longer and make it taste significantly smoother. This shot works best served ice-cold immediately after shaking, ideally as part of a celebration or party setting.
