Ingredients

Main
  • 2 large lemons
  • 1-2 tablespoons granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 cup cold water
  • Ice cubes optional

Equipment

  • Citrus juicer or reamer
  • Measuring cup
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Glass for serving

Method

  1. Start by cutting the lemons in half. Use a citrus juicer to extract the juice into a measuring cup, aiming for about ½ cup of fresh lemon juice.
  2. Add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar to the lemon juice. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved, creating a sweet-tart base.
  3. Pour in 1 cup of cold water into the lemon-sugar mixture. Stir well to combine, ensuring the flavor is evenly distributed.
  4. Take a small sip to check the sweetness and tartness. Feel free to adjust by adding more sugar or water according to your preference.
  5. If you prefer chilled lemonade, pop it in the fridge for a few minutes. Otherwise, you can serve it right away over ice cubes.
  6. Add a lemon slice or mint sprig to your glass for a lovely presentation, if desired.
  7. Enjoy your refreshing homemade lemonade.
  8. Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to three days. Give it a good stir before serving again.
