Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice about 4-6 lemons
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes for serving
  • Lemon slices for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Juicer or citrus squeezer
  • Measuring cup
  • Pitcher
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Ice cubes

Method

  1. Start by rolling the lemons on the counter to release their juices. Cut them in half and use a juicer to extract about 1 cup of juice.
  2. In a pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice with 1 cup of sugar. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  3. Pour in 4 cups of cold water. Adjust the amount based on your taste preferences; more water means a milder lemonade.
  4. Give the mixture a good stir to combine everything evenly. You want the sugar to be dissolved completely.
  5. Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  6. When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the chilled lemonade over the ice for a refreshing drink.
  7. If desired, add lemon slices to each glass for a pretty presentation.
  8. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your homemade lemonade.
