Ingredients

Main
  • 2 cups fresh ripe tomatoes chopped
  • 1 cup light beer
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce adjust to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs like basil or cilantro for garnish

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Pitcher
  • Measuring cups
  • Stirring spoon
  • Glasses for serving

Method

  1. Start by chopping the fresh tomatoes. This releases their juices and makes blending easier.
  2. Add the chopped tomatoes, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce to a blender. Blend until smooth for a delicious base.
  3. Use a fine mesh strainer to remove the pulp, if desired. This step gives you a smoother drink, but keep it chunky if you prefer!
  4. Pour the strained tomato mixture into a pitcher and slowly add the beer. Stir gently to combine and maintain the beer's fizz.
  5. Add salt and pepper to your liking. This enhances the flavors and balances the acidity of the tomatoes.
  6. Let the mixture chill in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.
  7. Fill glasses with ice if desired.
  8. Pour the Tomato Beer into the prepared glasses and garnish with fresh herbs.
