Ingredients

Main
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 4 cups sparkling water
  • 1 tablespoon honey or simple syrup optional
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Pitcher or large jug
  • Strainer or fine mesh sieve
  • Glass or bottle for serving
  • Spoon for stirring

Method

  1. Start by washing the strawberries thoroughly. Remove the green tops and slice them for better infusion.
  2. In a pitcher, add the sliced strawberries. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush them, releasing their juices.
  3. If you like a sweeter drink, add honey or simple syrup. Stir gently until well combined.
  4. Pour in the sparkling water slowly to maintain the fizz. Stir gently to combine without losing bubbles.
  5. If you prefer a clearer drink, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve. This removes the strawberry pulp.
  6. Fill glasses with ice cubes, if desired, and pour the strawberry sparkling water over them.
  7. Add fresh mint leaves on top for a pop of color and aroma.
  8. Now it's time to take a sip and enjoy the refreshing taste of your homemade sparkling water.
