Ingredients

Main
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice about 4-6 lemons
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice for serving
  • Lemon slices for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Juicer or lemon squeezer
  • Measuring cups
  • Pitcher
  • Stirring spoon
  • Ice cubes

Method

  1. Start by rolling the lemons on the countertop to help release their juices. Cut them in half and use a juicer to extract the juice.
  2. Measure out 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.
  3. In a pitcher, combine the lemon juice with 1 cup of granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Pour in 4 cups of cold water to the mixture.
  5. Mix everything together thoroughly.
  6. Taste your lemonade. If it’s too tart, add more sugar; if it’s too sweet, add a little more lemon juice.
  7. Refrigerate the lemonade for about 30 minutes if you have time.
  8. Serve it over ice in glasses.
  9. Add lemon slices to each glass if desired.

Notes

For an extra refreshing twist, try adding fresh mint leaves or berries.
