Ingredients

Main
  • 2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder
  • 1 tablespoon hot water
  • 2 cups milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sweetener honey, sugar, or agave
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract optional

Equipment

  • Small whisk or milk frother
  • small bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Medium saucepan
  • Two mugs

Method

  1. In a small bowl, combine the matcha powder with hot water. Whisk vigorously until smooth to avoid clumps and create a nice froth.
  2. In a medium saucepan, gently heat the milk over medium-low heat. Avoid boiling to keep the creamy texture without scalding.
  3. Once the milk is warm, stir in your chosen sweetener.
  4. If you have a milk frother, use it to create a light foam.
  5. Pour the frothed milk into the bowl with the whisked matcha. Stir gently to combine.
  6. If using vanilla extract, add it now and stir.
  7. Divide the latte between two mugs and enjoy the warm drink immediately.
  8. For an extra touch, sprinkle a little matcha or cinnamon on top before serving.

Notes

Adjust sweetness and type of milk according to your preference.
