Ingredients

Main
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice about 6-8 lemons
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes for serving
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Large pitcher or beverage dispenser
  • Blender or food processor
  • Strainer or fine mesh sieve
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Stirring spoon

Method

  1. Start by washing the strawberries thoroughly.
  2. In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries and half a cup of water. Blend until smooth to create a strawberry puree.
  3. Using a strainer or fine mesh sieve, pour the strawberry puree into a bowl to remove the seeds.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the fresh lemon juice and sugar. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves.
  5. In a large pitcher, add the strained strawberry puree, lemon syrup, and the remaining cold water. Stir well to mix all the flavors together.
  6. Sample your lemonade. If you prefer it sweeter, add more sugar; if you want it tangier, add a splash more lemon juice.
  7. Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to chill.
  8. Serve over ice in glasses, garnished with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

For a fancier touch, add a splash of sparkling water just before serving for a fizzy twist!
