Welcome to Bartender’s Cabinet. I’m the editor behind this recipe site, and I share practical information for people making drinks at home.
I created this space to help you discover cocktails, understand your ingredients, and feel more confident making drinks at home. Whether you’re mixing your first margarita, preparing drinks for friends, or exploring alcohol-free alternatives, my goal is to make the process approachable and enjoyable.
A Little About Me
My interest in bartending centers on how ingredients work together. Sweetness, acidity, bitterness, temperature, and dilution can all influence a drink—and understanding those details makes following a recipe much easier.
Through Bartender’s Cabinet, I focus on bringing that practical perspective to home drink making. I want to explain more than what goes into a glass. I want to help you understand the preparation, recognize useful techniques, and make thoughtful adjustments to your preferences.
My interests include classic cocktails, homemade mixers, seasonal flavors, and alcohol-free drinks. I enjoy exploring the details that turn a list of ingredients into a recipe someone can follow confidently.
Why I Started Bartender’s Cabinet
I wanted to build a useful resource for people who enjoy making drinks but don’t necessarily have professional equipment or bartending experience.
My aim is to give you clear measurements, understandable instructions, and practical notes in one place. You should know what you need, how to prepare it, and what to expect before you begin.
I write for home bartenders, curious beginners, cocktail enthusiasts, and hosts looking for something enjoyable to serve.
What I Share
On Bartender’s Cabinet, I cover:
- Classic cocktails: Familiar drinks and the ingredients that define them.
- Seasonal recipes: Drinks inspired by different flavors and occasions.
- Mocktails and refreshing beverages: Options for anyone who prefers alcohol-free drinks.
- Homemade ingredients: Syrups, mixers, infusions, and additions to your home bar.
- Bartending techniques: Guidance on measuring, shaking, stirring, garnishing, and choosing glassware.
Where useful, I include ingredient notes, preparation tips, variations, and printable recipe cards.
My Approach to Recipes
My goal is to publish recipes that are practical, understandable, and worth returning to.
I prioritize clear quantities, realistic preparation times, and consistency between the instructions and recipe card. I aim to distinguish hands-on preparation from waiting periods such as chilling, fermentation, and infusion.
When suggesting substitutions, I want to explain how they may change the finished drink. I also aim to consider the complete recipe when discussing dietary adaptations. Any nutrition figures I provide should be treated as estimates.
My editorial standard is straightforward: personal accounts should reflect genuine experience, suggested variations should be distinguished from tested results, and adapted recipes should acknowledge their sources.
Recipe Testing and Editorial Updates
Editing an article or correcting its recipe card does not by itself mean the recipe has been physically tested. I aim to state when a version is an editorial adaptation, acknowledge a published source when I use one, and avoid presenting suggested substitutions as measured results. If you spot a mismatch in quantities, timing or instructions, please send me the page link so I can review it.
Responsible Enjoyment
I share alcoholic recipes for adults of legal drinking age in their location, and I encourage moderate, responsible enjoyment.
I also include alcohol-free beverages because making an enjoyable drink does not require alcohol. When offering an alcohol-free adaptation, my aim is to account for every alcoholic ingredient in the original recipe.
If you have allergies or dietary requirements, please check the labels of the products you use. Ingredients and formulations can vary between brands.
